L&B Experience is a local inbound tour operator and travel agency founded by a Thai/German family. Our agency is named after our children Lotus and Bamboo.

We offer tailor-made tour packages with professional and personal support service at fair prices.

Mission

L&B Experience is specialized in unique and creative travel packages off the beaten track. Our mission is to provide special experiences different from the classics. As local experts and tourism professionals we offer to share insights into Thailand`s beautiful nature and its authentic culture behind the scenes.

We are committed to sustainable and ecologically friendly tourism that respects local culture and local way of living. We choose to support small sustainable projects, family-run accommodation and experiences off the beaten tracks to avoid mass tourism and negative impact on our local community.

Krisana (Gib) Kaenrat

Gib (Thai Nickname) was born in Bangkok and moved to Germany with his family when he was 10 years old. After finishing an apprenticeship in the field of hospitality he worked as manager of upper class hotel restaurants in Germany for almost 20 years.

Over the years Gib returned to Thailand as a traveler many times – exploring the different places of his home country. He developed a passion for diving and beautiful islands.

Feeling a desire to re-bond with his home country Thailand Gib started studying Southeast Asian Studies in Hamburg. After meeting his wife at University in German he followed his heart to finally go back home.

Settling down in Chiang Mai he took over a management position in a charming luxury hotel to step foot into local tourism before taking the next step to start a company of his own.

Julia Kaenrat

Julia grew up in a little village in Germany. She visited Thailand for the first time in the year 2000 together with her mother. After graduating from highschool Julia spent one year in the rural areas of Northeast Thailand teaching English at local schools, temples and in the village.

Getting into contact with locals and their heart warming hospitality Julia quickly lost her heart to Thailand`s people and their beautiful culture.

During her studies of Southeast Asian Languages and Cultures Julia took the opportunity to explore Thailand and its neighboring countries. After meeting with Gib she decided to settle down in Chiang Mai to follow her dreams. Here she started working as Sales Coordinator in a local travel agency before joining Gibs company.
